S. Derek Shenk
In the late 1980s Mr. Shenk became a Certified Hypnotherapist. His training in understanding how to effectively interact and effect change with a person on a physical, logical, emotional, subconscious, and higher-self levels became extremely valuable and helpful as he applied his expertise in Psychological Marketing while consulting with many companies including Panasonic, Kenworth, Peterbilt, McDonald's, Coca-cola, Alpine Electronics, and others.
Throughout the last 20 years Mr. Shenk would be called upon privately by friends, church leaders, and business acquaintances to help someone who was wrestling with a personal problem. People who had paid thousands of dollars and spent years talking to a “shrink” with no tangible results, or clients who had paid tens of thousands of dollars for a 30 day stay in rehab that didn't work, would come to Mr. Shenk and have their issue resolved more easily and permanently. People struggling with alcohol and drug addiction would find relief and freedom from a burden that had troubled them for many years. Families on the verge of divorce would gain the tools to turn their marriage around or complete the divorce in a way that would actually support and strengthen every family member.
The clients with the most extreme pain and anguishing challenges, often achieved the quickest and most wonderful resolution:
-
A woman who had been involved in the accidental death of a handicapped girl under her care went from thoughts of suicide to a wonderful understanding and conviction of her “partnership with God” in helping children.
-
A mother in extreme duress as the success of her son causes him to “wig out” and get into “extreme partying” asked for an intervention where Mr. Shenk actually lived on-site for 3 weeks to bring about amazing results. “You saved my son's life!” she proclaimed.
-
A man who became a stumbling drunk every day, with thoughts of suicide over the death of his fiance and loss of his business (all on the same night), turned his life around in a few weeks, getting a new job and becoming happy again.
-
A man who had lost over $1,000,000 in one day, was incredibly distraught, with thoughts of suicide. In three weeks he gained the insights and understandings to restore his happiness, remove his judgments, and move forward in an exciting new direction.
Over the course of many years of working with clients, Mr. Shenk developed the Emotional Tracing™ system for identifying and permanently resolving the Thought Forms and programming that were created during original events that influence, control, or cause problems for clients. When these issues are so easily and effectively removed and replaced by empowering and helpful Thought Forms and programming, the client often feels immediate, profound and permanent results.
Only after having 5 boys did Mr. Shenk discover his passion for baseball. Coaching players in a game where failing 60% of the time means they are successful provided a wonderful platform for further development of the Emotional Tracing™ system. A player that bats near .700 for 1 season may be “lucky”, but when that player did it for 3 years in a row, Mr. Shenk knew he had made some important discoveries. Another player coached by Mr. Shenk had to go to a team tryout where he was given 5 pitches to hit. He hit 3 of them over the fence! College players who showed up to a field with friends to “hit a few balls” where Mr. Shenk was working with a player were invited to participate. They later exclaimed “I've learned more in these 2 hours than I learned in the last 4 years of playing ball!”
Mr. Shenk also has a personal quest to gain greater understanding and real tools to facilitate spiritual growth. Where society and government often shuns discussions of spirituality, Mr. Shenk believes that any great endeavor or accomplishment requires complete congruency of a person, including spiritual harmony. Mr. Shenk's has a non-denominational approach to include spiritual development with clients as they make important life changes.
Mr. Shenk has been married for 28 years to his wife Deborah, has 5 boys, and loves animals, having had a German Shepard, a Doberman, a Boa snake, an Owl Monkey, Sugar Gliders, a rabbit, and his current exotic – a “dog-cat” Kenya who looks like a cat, but acts like a dog. He loves baseball, thoroughly enjoys working with kids, and enjoys scuba diving.
But ultimately Mr. Shenk enjoys making a difference in people's lives the most! He believes that nothing matters more than actual results.
“One of the most fun aspects of working with clients”, says Mr. Shenk, “is their relief and excitement as they actual feel the fast, permanent, and life-changing results from their very first session!”
